Our first-ever trip to the Grotto started out windy and chilly, but the 10-or-so of us on the ride were in good spirits – including three tiny kids, two on a cargo bike and one on a trail-a-bike. And the wind died down for the ride home, so it was comfy. We stayed on the I-205 path most of the way there and came home along what was at one time planned to be the 70s bikeway. In between we took in the Grotto’s Festival of Lights.

The week after 11 good-natured scouts embarked on a search for hidden gems of the Springwater Corridor. We stopped at lots of picturesque spots, and shopped a bit at the Franz Bakery Outlet and the Leech Botanical Gardens Annual Holiday Bazaar.

I played some music on the ride and someone asked me about this tune, which is one of my favorites: Ahmad Jamal’s Poinciana. Until next time, stay jazzy!
